Step 1: Customise the Register for Your Context

  • Remove risks that don’t apply to your situation (e.g., if you’re not subject to HIPAA, you may not need the same level of audit trail rigor).
  • Add risks specific to your context (e.g., if you’re migrating from a legacy mainframe, you might have risks around mainframe expertise or legacy system quirks).
  • Adjust severity levels based on your business impact (e.g., if your BI system is mission-critical, all risks are higher severity).
